Options to obtain credit for a practice:
You have three options to complete your internship:
1. Completing the internship is possible at:
- a self-chosen location (after obtaining approval from the Career and Internship Department or the Internship Supervisor)
- a location proposed by the Career and Internship Department
Before starting the internship, the student should prepare an internship agreement between the university and the workplace. The internship can begin after the agreement is signed. (§ 8 Internship Regulations)
BEFORE COMMENCING PRACTICE
Step 1: Download and print the following documents
- Professional Student Internship Agreement in the field of Journalism and Social Communication
- Referral for professional student internship – only if the employer requires a referral before establishing cooperation with you
- Daily Report of Professional Student Internships
- Certificate of completion of professional student internship
Step 2: Provide the employer with 2 copies of the agreement for signing.
Step 3: Submit to the Career and Internship Department (room 116) 2 copies of the agreement signed by the employer for signature by the Academic Supervisor for Internships.
Step 4: Provide the signed agreement to the employer.
Step 5: Regularly fill out the internship journal. If you need assistance, contact the Career and Internship Department.
AFTER COMPLETING THE INTERNSHIP
Step 6: Submit to the Career and Internship Department the completed and signed by the Supervisor at the company Internship Journal for Professional Student Internships and the Certificate of Completion of Professional Student Internship signed by the Employer (no later than 3 weeks after completing the internship).
Step 7: After verification by the department’s employee, your documents will be handed over to the Internship Supervisor, who will review them and issue a grade in the USOS system.
2. If you are employed by a company, participating in an internship, or volunteering according to the internship program, you have the option to submit an application to credit the internship as professional activity to the Dean of the Faculty. (§ 8 Internship Regulations)
Documents required to credit internships based on professional activity:
- Application for crediting professional student internship based on professional activity in the field of Journalism and Social Communication
- Employer’s opinion on the course of employment or other professional activities
3. If you run a business according to the internship program, you have the option to submit an application to count the internship based on running your own business to the Dean of the Faculty.. (§ 8 Internship Regulations)
Students can submit internship-related documents to room 116 (Career and Internship Department) during working hours:
- Monday – Friday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Wednesday – closed;
- Saturday (during study weekends): 10:00 am – 2:00 pm or at the reception, in an envelope marked “Career and Internship Department”.
