Asian Students Association

About us

Studying at Vistula University is much more than just learning – it is also expanding your horizons, and getting to know new interesting people. Thanks to the Asian Union Association, you can experience it all, while still feeling like at home.

Currently, the Association counts more than 100 members – students from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. What is important, just as our motto says: “Unity in Diversity” – we are open to everyone, so please feel invited to join us!

How does it work?

Our actions and goals:

  • Creating a family and friendly atmosphere amongst students from different countries, who share common cultural backgrounds.
  • Promoting and strengthening the awareness of Asian cultures at the University.
  • Making a space for the students to integrate, co-operate and help each other, by organising various kinds of activities, such as trips, events, contests, conferences, national days, picnics, and many more!

Celebration of National Days: Mongolian National Day, Tajik National Day

In such an  event, representatives of different countries prepare their national foods, dances, and music. We have many international students, so each of them can show some of their countries’ traditions. Students can learn much about foreign countries, and taste their  national dishes.

Celebration of Holidays: Navruz Celebration

Navruz is the spring “New Year” holiday. It has been celebrated for at least 2,500 years. Navruz is celebrated each year on March the 21st in Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and the western provinces of China. The  main goal of celebrating this event at our University, is to introduce the culture of Central Asia, and also to remember this traditional holiday abroad.

Get to know Warsaw: Royal Castle Tour

The students who  join our association for the first time, get to go on a Royal Castle  Tour. It helps students to get to know Warsaw, better and quicker.

Events

Charity Events: Christmas Charity

The main aim of this event is to help others. In collaboration with some other clubs, our members prepare sweet cupcakes and other treats, and sell them to fellow students. Last year, the money raised allowed us to visit one of the orphanage houses in Warsaw. Students played games with the children there, and awarded them with prizes.

Cultural Events: International Cuisine Day

During this event, members of our  association get together and cook their traditional foods. Students help each other to make the meals, and learn about their recipes. The  main purpose of this event is bonding and creating strong friendships between students of different countries, whilst improving inter-cultural dialogue. We seek to  live our association’s motto “Unity in diversity”.

Who knows, maybe we will organise  the next great project with you!
