The Vistula School of Hospitality’s International Conference ‘Tourism in the sustainable development of Metropolitan cities’ has been postponed
The coronavirus pandemic affects many aspects of our lives, including our activities and career plans. Due to the current epidemic situation and prevailing restrictions, the date of the conference: ‘Tourism in the sustainable development of Metropolitan cities’ has been postponed. We are planning to organise it in the second half of September, 2020, if possible. Information on the exact date will be provided at the end of June. At the same time, we would like to inform you about several organisational changes.
- The pandemic has highlighted the importance of tourism as a factor of economic development and an important component of the life quality of modern societies. City dwellers have, particularly, strongly felt its effects. It ensures thinking about how to ensure the sustainable development of tourism in the face of global challenges, making full use of its positive impact on the environment, and minimising threats. For these reasons, we are expanding the subject of the conference to include the pandemic problem, and analysis of its obvious impact on tourism development. In a special way, we would like to focus on studying its anticipated effects, and the possibilities of actions aimed at protecting the industry.
- Due to a change of the conference date and an extension of its substantive scope, the deadline for registration and applications is extended – until May the 31st, 2020.
- The deadline for paying the conference fee is extended – to June the 15th, 2020.
- The deadline for sending articles is extended – to June the 30th, 2020; at the same time, we would like to inform you that texts submitted in accordance with the earlier date – by May the 30th, 2020 – will be processed first, and will be forwarded to the appropriate editorial staff before the holidays.
