The Single Market – challenges and approaches: Citizens Dialogue on Europe Day

Start: Thu, 09 May 2019, 10:00

On May the 9th, we celebrate Europe Day.

This is a day of peace and unity, marking the anniversary of the signing of the historic Schuman declaration.

In 1950, the then head of French diplomacy, proposed a new form of political co-operation on our continent, which would prevent the outbreak of another war. This declaration is at the heart of European integration.

One of its pillars is the common market, which allows the free movement of goods, persons, services, and capital, within the Community. What has been achieved so far? How can we make better use of the potential of the single market? What challenges are ahead of it, and what are the ways in which it can develop? These are the leading topics of Citizens Dialogue, which Vistula University organises, together with the European Commission’s office, in Poland.

Mr. Andrzej Celiński will be our guest speaker. He is a member of the political cabinet of Elżbieta Bieńkowska, European Commissioner for the Internal Market and Services. Mr. Celiński will also talk about his own career in the European institutions, which can be of great practical value for Vistula students.
