“New silk roads – ideas and the course of implementing the concept” – a scientific seminar of the Center for Asian Research
The Centre for Asian Research of Vistula University invites you to the seminar: “New Silk Roads – ideas and the course of implementing the concept”.
Ksawery Burski – sinologist and diplomat, a former ambassador in China and Indonesia, will deliver a lecture, which will be the author’s presentation and discussion of the concept of the ‘Chinese One Belt One Road’ initiative on a macro-economic scale.
The topic is extremely important, as it is at the centre of world politics. At the end of March, 2019, Chinese President Xi Jinping, promoted the ‘One Belt One Road’ idea in Europe. He met, amongst others, with the Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte; the President of France, Emmanuel Macron; Germany’s Chancellor, Angela Merkel; and the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker. At the beginning of April, the Prime Minister of China, Li Keqiang, promoted this concept during a meeting with the leaders of Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland.
As part of the ‘One Belt One Road’ initiative, Beijing intends to invest 900 billion USD in roads, railways, gas pipelines, power plants, telecommunications’ networks, ports, and airports, from Asia to Europe and Africa.
We invite everyone interested
