New military technologies of great powers. Military potential comparison of the US, Russia and China

Start: Tue, 28 Jan 2020, 10:00

The Institute of International Relations and the Institute of Political Science of the Vistula University invite you to the scientific seminar “New military technologies of great powers. Military potential comparison of US, Russia and China”. The event will take place on January 28, 2020, at 10:00 am, in room 21.

Col. Eugeniusz Januła, PhD, will give the lecture and lead a discussion. He is an analyst and expert in military affairs, publicist, former deputy, author and co-author of twenty books on military-political and historical issues and about eight hundred articles; former vice president of the Federation of Reservists and Veterans of the Polish Armed Forces, vice president of Legal Committee CIOR-NATO and member of the strategic subcommittee CIOR-NATO.

Col. Eugeniusz Januła, PhD, notes that great powers have been working on new weapon systems for years. However, new military technologies do not indicate the advantage of either party. Ronald Regan’s famous “Star Wars”, i.e. 24 innovative technologies in the announcements, have not developed for the most part. Currently, works on only three systems are underway. Constructors have obtained operational use in the aspect of the electromagnetic pulse only.

Russia is developing classic weapon systems, acquiring new types and mutations of SARMAT missiles. It also has the world’s most effective S-400 anti-aircraft missile system; probably began mass production of an even newer S-500 system and launched new submarines, BOREJ class carriers and universal JASIEN. In the silos, after the WOJEWODA / SZATAN missiles, installation of the new generation missiles, SARMAT, was probably started.

The United States, in turn, installed an electromagnetic gun on one of the ZUMWALT class warship destroyers. It is a big step towards new generation systems. However, the US is not expanding the missile system – neither on land launchers nor submarines. Construction of two more aircraft carriers, bigger than the previous ones, adapted to the new Panama Canal path by parameters, has begun.

China, like India, is still buying a lot of weapons from Russia. They also work intensively on their constructions. These are rockets, invisible planes and conventional weapons. Is there a real Chinese-Russian alliance? For now, this is only broad cooperation.

The seminar will take place in Polish.

We cordially invite all interested parties.
