Green energy at Vistula’s Universities
Vistula’s Universities already use solar energy. Photovoltaic panels have been installed on the roof of our headquarters. The investment will save money and reduce CO2 emissions.
The installation of photovoltaic panels, fits in with the idea of sustainable development that guides us. The use of renewable energy sources, results from our sense of responsibility for the natural environment, as well as the need to look for more economically-efficient solutions.
Thanks to the installed photovoltaic panels, Vistula’s Universities will generate energy with a capacity of approximately 50MWh each year. This amount is enough to drive an electric car, 255,120 km.
The investment was designed, and efficiently carried out for us, by the company Zielona-Energia, which specialises in photovoltaic solutions for business and individual clients.
Vistula’s Universities also promote the idea of sustainable development in their curricula. In the field of Economics, students can choose the specialisation, ‘Green Economy’. This programme is aimed at people, who want to develop a career, in the area of solving global challenges, related to threats to the human environment. This applies to environmental pollution, growing shortages of water, natural resources, and the over-population of many regions of the world. The consequence is global warming, and the widening of the differences between the rich and the poor. Therefore, there is an urgent need to create the conditions for sustainable development, taking into account, symbiosis with the natural environment of man.
