Drawing and sculpture – exhibition of works by Graphic Arts students
Exhibitions of works by Graphic Arts students are a permanent element of Vistula University’s life. Another such event is ahead of us. Students’ drawings and sculptures will be displayed in the gallery on the first floor. The opening of the exhibition will take place on May the 12 at 12:00 p.m.
The works were created under the guidance of Marek Kowalski. Students studied the basics of sculpture over one semester. Using plasticine and wire, they explored the issues of shape, space, monumentality, and dynamics. The completed works comprised one in the category of nature, entitled ”Leaf”, a design presenting a model of a monument of a selected letter and a figure in motion.
While studying the art of drawing, students completed at least six studio drawings from nature during one semester. Their attention was to be focused on observing the model, therefore, before starting work on a large format, they prepared conceptual sketches of drawings, which allowed them to achieve a good composition of the subject of work.
Students explored such issues as: correct proportions of the model, its character and composition on the B1 format. They learned how to model solids and space with chiaroscuro as well as graphic arrangement of a drawing.
You’re welcome to see the exhibition!
