For the first time in history, the Vistula University Choir conducted by Agnieszka Zińczuk included a song in Spanish in its repertoire. This is a fantastic result of cooperation with the Iberyst Scientific Club, which operates under the supervision of Karolina Nuria Czępińska.

As part of a joint project, students prepared the song “La Llorona”, which means Weeper in Spanish. It is a song about an extraordinary woman who is very important to the people of Mexico. Mexicans give her a metaphysical element, believing that La Llorona is the Aztec goddess, patron of the Chihuacóatl breed. They believe that before the Spanish conquest, a woman dressed in a white robe and mourning her race, began to appear in the waters of Lake Texcoco.

On November the 1 and the 2, the Day of the Dead is celebrated in Mexico. Día de Muertos is a time of colorful, joyful fiesta. In Mexican culture, death is seen as a natural part of the human cycle.
