Art that inspires viewers to think. Meeting with Włodzimierz Kwiatkowski
On December the 7th we hosted at Vistula University a unique artist, an outstanding painter, Włodzimierz Kwiatkowski, lecturer at the Royal Catalan Academy of Art in Barcelona. The artist met with students and showed some of his works. The event attracted great interest.
During the meeting with students, the artist talked about the idea of his art and his unique workshop. He uses a special patented technique “In Hyperopia” that makes his works come to life. They follow the viewer watching them, and the perfect illusion causes the depth to unexpectedly draw the viewer into the image. The artist achieves such a strong sense of depth not only by creating geometrically convex sub-paintings, but above all by using his knowledge of optics.
Włodzimierz Kwiatkowski emphasizes that art should reflect the character of our experiences and aspirations. It is a manifestation of exhibitionism for him. – Painting is all me, it is my fingerprints – he says. – My painting is based on traditional workshop. It is Renaissance in form and superreal in content. A bit of magic, mystery, theater, elegance. Each painting is an extensive moral story with many solutions, he adds.
Our guest studied at the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. He has lived in Marbella for years. He practices easel painting, wall painting and drawing, and creates ceramics as well. His painting works are in private collections in Poland and abroad. The artist is the author of many individual and collective exhibitions.
