Architecture students’ success

Architecture students of Vistula University have once again succeeded at the International Festival of Gardens in Ponte de Lima, Portugal. Two of their works were among the best projects of the competition, which this year, was held under the slogan ‘Gardens and Climate Change’. One submission titled: ‘Crumbling Garden’ was developed independently by Arkadiusz Malinowski, and the other ‘Agua da Vida, Let’s know the power of water’ was developed by a team consisting of: Natalia Szewczyk, Katarzyna Staszczak, Patrycja Sołtysiak and Julia Kosowska.

Students worked under the supervision of a landscape architect, Joanna Bieńkowska, MSc. Their task was not only to understand the subject in the artistic approach, but also to estimate the costs that could not exceed PLN 10,000. Euro, and outline the implementation of the planting plan, sections, and visualisation.

In addition to Vistula students, teams from Portugal, Germany, Austria, Romania, Norway, Brazil, Spain, Scotland, Italy, the Czech Republic, and France, attended the competition.
The winning projects are to be implemented, and you will be able to admire them until October of this year.

The International Festival of Gardens in Ponte de Lima has been organised since 2005.
This is one of the most important events of its kind in Europe. Its aim is to constantly raise the ecological awareness of societies.
