Literary theorist, poet, prose writer, translator. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 2010 at the Institute of English Studies, Warsaw University writing about irony in the works of Elizabeth Bishop. Awarded a scholarship of the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators in Visby (December 2010), H.A.L.D. (Housing Authors and Literature) in Viborg (July and August 2011) and OMI in Ghent, New York (September 2012) and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage to write a book (twice: in 2007 and 2010). He has published Przygody, etc. (2005), Jesień Zuzanny (2007), 47 lotów balonem (2013) and Moon Machine (2019, Convivo Publishing House). He has translated the works of William S. Burroughs, Gertrude Stein, Sarah Perry, Mark Ford, Arvind Mehrotra, Vahni Capildeo, Marcus Slease and Grzegorz Wróblewski, and published, among others, in “Literatura na Świecie”, “Wizje”, “Przekrój”, “Odra”, “Jacket Magazine” and “Past Simple”. He participated in international cultural and literary studies conferences, author of articles in post-conference volumes (Magdalena Cieślak, Agnieszka Rasmus (ed.), PASE. Studies in Literature and Culture, Łódź University Press, Łódź 2008; Tomasz Dobrogoszcz (ed.), Współczesna Literatura Brytyjska w Polsce, Łódź University Press, Łódź 2008).

Areas of didactic/scientific interests:

  • Contemporary English poetry;
  • Literary translation;
  • Theories of irony;
  • Image / text (ekphrasis, illustration, adaptation).
