Vistula University Honored Architecture Students

Vistula University, for the first time in its history, organized a competition for the best engineering diploma projects defended in the field of Architecture.

The winners were:

• 1st place: Darina Gladilova,

• 2nd place: Adilet Ramazan,

• 3rd place (ex aequo): Jakub Grąbczewski and Natalia Laptinowa.

The awards were presented by Professor Wawrzyniec Konarski, PhD, Rector of Vistula University, Vice-Rector Grzegorz Mathea, PhD and Dean Magdalena Kłęk, PhD, who fully shared in the pride and satisfaction of the winners. The event, which took place on May 17th, was an excellent opportunity to showcase the talents of our students—their creativity and innovation.

The competition was open to all engineering diploma projects defended at the Faculty of Architecture in the academic year 2022/23. 15 works qualified for the final stage. The winners were selected by a jury consisting of our distinguished academics and a representative of the Architecture Academic Club.

The winning works presented a variety of engineering architectural concepts. The engineering solutions implemented in the designs were not only correct in terms of formal requirements, but they also manifested high design skills of the participants. They also present special architectural value, for example: in terms of functionality, spatial solutions, aesthetics, design idea and technological solutions.

The first edition of the competition was a great success, and its organizers have already announced continuation of this initiative in the coming years.
