“Spirit of Asia” from the perspective of Architecture and Urban Planning

Vistula University invites You to the lecture of Janekan Janekankit 21st of April in the Hall A2B at Vistula University from 12:00-14:00.

Lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture Rajamangala University of Technology in Thailand. M.Sc. Urban Administration and Planning (University of Seoul, South Korea) M.U.R.P. Urban and Regional Planning (Chulalongkorn University, Thailand) B.Arch. Architectural Technology (Rajamangala University of Technology, Thailand)

The lecture is divided into three parts;

Part I – Asian Ideology, this part explains how the major ideologies in Asia such as Feng Shui & Yin Yang, Zen and Buddhist Cosmology influence the architecture and urban planning in many Asian countries; case studies about China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and others.

Part II – ASEAN Beyond the Growth, this part provides information of the rapid growth of ASEAN opening the main gate to Southeast Asia – the newest battle field of multi-international architects.

Part III – Sense of Place, importance of the city’s spirit, in order to create urban plan, urban design, landscape design as well as architecture.
