New Silk Road – Scientific Conference at the Vistula University
Five years have just passed since the Chinese leader Xi Jinping announced the rise of the New Silk Road.
One Belt, One Road Initiative – because this is the official name – has a global dimension. It is to connect China with the countries of Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Over 60 countries, including Poland, take part in it. Beijing plans to spend 100 billion dollars to stimulate trade and investment in this project.
The international scientific conference organized by the Center for Asian Research of the Academy of Finance and Business Vistula will be an opportunity to reflect on the historical inspirations of this initiative, the present situation and scenarios for the future.
The New Silk Road – it’s a huge opportunity and challenge, cooperation, but also competition. The project has an impact on the fate of individual countries, groups and people.
The conference will connect the ademic point of view and the business perspective.
The conference program includes speeches by, among others, prof. Witold Orłowski, an eminent economist, Rector of AFiBV, prof. Grzegorz Kołodko, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, PhD Wojciech Huebner, director of the AFiBV Asian Research Center, PdD Kazimierz Kik, director of the Institute of Political Sciences of UJK in Kielce, Ambassador Marek Wejtko, Department of Non-European Countries of the Ministry of Enterprise and Technology.
