An architect and academic with an educational experience gained in several Polish and foreign universities, including the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, where she obtained education, doctorate, postdoctoral degree and professor’s appointment (2011); as a co-owner (with her husband S. Tobolczyk) of ABM architectural office she designed many Energy efficient housing communities with an innovative patented type of building; she also designs public buildings and private residences; an author of numerous monographs and articles, including the book „Contemporary Architecture. The Genesis and Characteristics of Leading Trends” published in 2021 by Cambridge Scholars Publishing in New Castle upon Tyne, UK, “The Art of Building at the Dawn of Human Civilization. The Ontogenesis of Architecture ”in 2020 by the same publisher. “Modern architecture. Genesis and characteristic of leading trends” and “The Birth of architecture. An introduction to the Ontogenesis of architecture” released in 2008 by Open House Int.: Urban International Press, Gateshead, UK; she develops her interest in both old and modern architecture when traveling extensively abroad and working outside the country, among others in the United States (1989-1990 – as a visiting professor in the Iowa State University in Ames, IA and 1990-1993 in the North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, then having a professor’s appointment at the Department of Architecture in the Eastern Mediterranean University in Famagusta, North Cyprus (2003-2009).
Teaching/research interests:
- theory and history of architecture;
- evolutionary processes in architecture;
- organic and sustainable architecture.
