Vistula Economics & Business Club (VEBC)

Who are we?

We are an international student research think tank operating at Vistula University, bringing together students interested in in-depth analysis of contemporary economic processes. We create an environment for young researchers and analysts who do not limit themselves to studying economic theory but actively conduct research on real market phenomena and cooperate with the business and institutional environment.

The club’s activity is based on a matrix model, combining specialized thematic pillars with operational support teams: IDI (Innovation & Development Intelligence), DATA (quantitative and qualitative analysis), and CONTENT (publications, scientific communication, and popularization of research results). This structure fosters interdisciplinary cooperation and the systematic development of the research, analytical, and methodological competencies of the club’s members.

Our mission

Our mission is to integrate reliable academic foundations with economic practice by developing analyses, reports, and recommendations based on current empirical data and recognized research methodologies. Our goal is to prepare future specialists, analysts, and economic decision-makers to function in conditions of dynamic structural changes taking place in the global economy, respecting the principles of international cooperation and social responsibility.

Our goal

The overarching goal of our activity is to impact the academic, economic, and social environment through research and analytical activities. We focus on:

  • maintaining high methodological standards of conducted research,
  • strengthening the integration of the international community of students and young researchers,
  • formulating conclusions and recommendations with potential application in economic practice and decision-making processes.

Our activity aims to develop critical thinking, in-depth economic analysis, and conscious participation in public debate regarding contemporary economic challenges.

The project

Intensive work is currently underway at the Vistula Economics & Business Club on a report titled: “Adaptive Strategies of Polish SMEs in the Era of Polycrisis and Market Transformation in the Years 2024-2025.”

The research problem undertaken results from the observed transition of the Polish small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector from a crisis management phase to a stage of long-term adaptation in conditions of a polycrisis. The term polycrisis refers to a situation in which economic, geopolitical, energy, regulatory, and technological phenomena occur simultaneously, permeating each other and amplifying their impact.

The main goal of the project is a multidimensional analysis of adaptive mechanisms enabling Polish SMEs to maintain operational continuity and competitive capabilities in the face of the growing polycrisis in the years 2024-2025.

The analysis focuses in particular on:

  • identifying effective strategies for responding to accumulated external factors,
  • assessing the relationship between financial resilience and the flexibility of management structures,
  • analyzing the impact of changing legal and regulatory frameworks on decision-making processes in the SME sector.

The result of the project will be a research report containing analytical conclusions and recommendations of an applicative nature, addressed to entrepreneurs, public institutions, and other market stakeholders.
