Academic Choir

About us

Singing together brings people closer together, creates relationships, and helps fight isolation. In the choir, you will develop vocally, musically, and socially, and you will meet fantastic people.

Not sure if it’s worth it? Below you can read about the advantages of joining our group.

Community. The choir is a wonderful community where we make great friends. Many people meet a soul mate in the choir 😉. We spend time together, go out to karaoke, organize integration meetings.

Health. Singing is very good for your health. It supports our breathing, strengthens our muscles, helps reduce anxiety and relax, frames our posture, exercises the facial muscles, and tones the abdomen. When you sing, your body produces “feel good” hormones called endorphins.

Skills. You can learn singing or develop your vocal skills, learn the basics of music theory, a new repertoire, to hear better. You can improve your self-esteem and build self-confidence. It will be a lot of fun, by the way.

Concerts. Of course, we also give concerts, we also plan joint trips.

Spotykamy się na próbach co tydzień, w poniedziałki w godzinach 19.00-21.00.

What are the rehearsals for?

Getting to know the repertoire and preparation for performances
Successfully mastering a repertoire does not only mean singing songs many times. It involves helping each section become more confident in its part and then linking the parts of votes together to form a coherent whole. This process takes time, so it’s very important to get ready in advance to make sure everything is discussed in time for the show. In the course of learning the songs, we also develop a common interpretation.

Teamwork
A good team creates a positive atmosphere during rehearsals, making them more attractive to members. Great team spirit makes learning music together much more creative and enjoyable.

Developing singing skills
While singing together, we learn the technique and develop a common and consistent timbre.

What do we expect from you?

Passion, willingness, and commitment
The most important thing in being a choir member is a passion. Even if you don’t think you’re the best singer right now, if you really want to sing, have passion and enthusiasm, we’d love to welcome you.

Participation in rehearsals and concerts

Remember, that a choir is a group of people. Each member of the choir is very important. A chorister is an element in a large machine, when it is missing – everything starts to collapse.

Organizing vocal workshops
We took part, among others, in vocal workshops in Koryciny, during which we got to know the new repertoire and had the opportunity to work with an instrumental ensemble. At the end of the workshops, we gave a concert in Ciechanowiecki Ośrodek Kultury i Sportu in Podlasie.

Concerts
We played a concert incl. during the regional festival “Wianki na Nurcu” in Ciechanowiec. We presented pieces written and composed by Sławomir Leszczyński. We also co-organized the festive Christmas Concert, performed at the Inauguration, Orientation Days, Christmas Eve, and Halloween at Vistula University. We also conducted vocal workshops at the Multicultural Center.
