’Practical Entrepreneurship Lesson is starting – a project by the Vistula University and the Institute of Entrepreneurship Creation
’Practical Entrepreneurship Lesson’ is the largest such project in Poland, which is addressed to secondary school students. Vistula University conducts it as a leader in innovative education, in partnership with the Entrepreneurship Creation Institute.
The programme is a multi-stage competition for a business idea, covering 3 sub-regions with centres in Warsaw, Wrocław, and Olsztyn. 1,800 students aged 16 – 19, attending secondary schools from all over Poland (600 from each of the 3 regions), will take part in it.
The aim of the project is to develop educational programmes in 7 main thematic areas: sales, negotiations, business modeling, group work, presentations, accounting, taxes and law, and to implement on this basis, teaching activities, such as:
- workshops on generating innovative business ideas,
- in-depth business training,
- e-learning training sessions,
- mentoring activities,
- presentation workshops,
- workshops simulating an investment committee.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop those skills and competences that will allow them, after graduating from school, to open and run their own businesses.
120 parents of students (40 people from each of the 3 regions) will also participate in this programme. They will have the opportunity to take part in two-day workshops on active parenting, skills in working with children, conflict resolution, and understanding of modern communication methods.
The ’Practical Entrepreneurship Lesson’ project is co-financed by the European Union, from the European Social Fund, under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development for 2014-2020.3
