How to become a leader? Where does leadership start? These are the questions that many ambitious young people ask themselves. Jakub Kochowicz – the Mayor of Lisewo – will try to convince you that leadership begins at the local level. The Institute of Political Sciences of the Vistula University invites you on October the 23rd, to a seminar with his participation. Bartłomiej Nowak, PhD., will lead the meeting.

Jakub Kochowicz

Jakub Kochowicz is the youngest-ever mayor in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship. He started his social activity in NGOs, and the School of Leaders, as a close collaborator of Professor Zbigniew Pełczyński from the University of Oxford. At the age of 27, he stood for election in the local elections but lost. Four years later, he succeeded. As a mayor, he tries to invest in social capital, build civil society, and support non-governmental organisations and informal groups. He says that the voice of the inhabitants is the most crucial thing for him.

Jakub Kochowicz will reflect on the lessons of leadership, and advise you on how to track your careers.

With this meeting, we will start a series: “My career seminar”.

Language: English

We cordially invite all students.

On October the 23th, 2019, at 4:50 pm, Hall 6. The meeting will last one hour.
