The famous Roman philosopher, writer and lawyer – Cicero said: “A man needs libraries and gardens to live.”

Garden is an epitome of beauty, but also a metaphor of human life with all its elements, including religion. Second-year students of Architecture of Vistula University put it beautifully in their “Garden of Life” project, which was created as part of the subject ‘Landscape Architecture Design’ under the supervision of Ms Zuzanna Bartman.

The work of Karolina Beinarovic, Tetiana Humeniuk, Ibrahim Khaled and Mohyi Mahmoud won the international competition in the field of landscape architecture at Ponte de Lima in Portugal, whose leitmotif is religions in garden.

The project of our students is to be implemented and will be an essential part of the International Garden Festival in Ponte de Lima. It will be open to visitors from May to October 2020.

Ponte de Lima International Garden Festival is one of the most important events of this kind in Europe. It is not only an exhibition but also a provocation, challenge and education. Increasing of ecological awareness of societies is the goal. Festival is an authentic school of environment.

All works sent for the competition will be presented at our University, on the first floor.

Congratulations to the winners!
