Vernissage “New beginning” – recap

On 21 November 2025, the vernissage of the exhibition “New beginning” was held at the Wola Cultural Centre – Otwarta Kolonia, showcasing the best diploma projects by Graphic Design students of the Vistula University from the 2024/2025 academic year. The venue at Górczewska 15 attracted many students, lecturers, alumni, and guests interested in contemporary graphic art and illustration.

During the event, awards were presented in the competition for the best diploma projects. The submitted works covered a wide range of forms – from graphic design and animation, through traditional printmaking techniques, to original illustrated books, graphic objects, and projects using new media. As the organisers emphasised, the level of this year’s diploma works was exceptionally high, and each project stood out with its individual visual language, conceptual maturity, and professional execution.

One of the organisers and a lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science, Graphic Arts and Architecture, MA Anna Dybowska, summed up the importance of the competition as follows:

The competition for the best diploma project in Graphic Design is a very important event because it gives students the opportunity to present their talent, creativity and skills. The diploma is the closure of a certain stage and at the same time the beginning of a new path in the life of a young artist. Many excellent works were submitted to the competition. Each of them was unique in a different respect – some impressed with their ingenuity, others with precision of execution or depth of message. This shows the high level represented by young artists and how much talent is hidden among them. Each of these works deserves recognition. We wish young artists every success on their artistic path [tłum. własne].
