The 2025/2026 Academic Year Inauguration is behind us!

On Thursday, October 23, in Aula 4 of the Vistula University, we celebrated the official Inauguration of the 2025/2026 Academic Year – one of the most significant events in the life of our academic community. The hall was filled with students, faculty members, and distinguished guests, creating an atmosphere of pride and anticipation for the year ahead.

The ceremony began with the solemn entrance of the Senates of Vistula University and the Vistula School of Hospitality, followed by their formal introduction and welcome. The flag-bearing ceremony and the singing of the Polish national anthem marked the official opening of the event.

After the ceremonial opening, the university rectors took the floor. Professor Wawrzyniec Konarski, Rector of Vistula University, emphasized the importance of the academic community – a value that, as he noted, has never been more relevant than today. Professor Krzysztof Celuch, Rector of the Vistula School of Hospitality, addressed students with a heartfelt message: to smile more often and approach each day with optimism, reminding everyone that kindness and openness are among the core values of the Vistula environment.

The ceremony continued with the traditional matriculation oath, during which first-year students pledged their commitment, officially joining the Vistula academic community – symbolically marking the beginning of their educational journey.

The highlight of the event was the inaugural lecture by Professor Wojciech Czakon,, dr h.c., from Jagiellonian University, titled “Why Is Digital Transformation So Slow?” In an inspiring address, Professor Czakon discussed the challenges and opportunities of the digital revolution in academia and business, encouraging listeners to reflect on the future of technology and its societal impact.
