Orientation Day 2026 – welcoming new students to Vistula

On 16 October 2026, Vistula University in Warsaw hosted Orientation Day 2026, an event dedicated to students beginning their studies in the new academic year. It was an opportunity to discover the University, learn about student services and support, and explore opportunities for personal and academic development.

The event took place in Auditorium 6 and was divided into two sessions – Polish-language and English-language – allowing new students to receive essential information about university life in their preferred language.

Taking the first steps at Vistula

During the Polish-language session, students were welcomed by Prof. Krzysztof Celuch, Rector of the Vistula School of Hospitality. The English-language session featured a welcome address by Dr Davut Han Aslan, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs.

The programme included presentations introducing the Vistula Group of Universities and the departments responsible for supporting students throughout their studies.

Participants learned about the Dean’s Office, the Platon platform and the department responsible for foreign language education. They also received important information about campus safety, career development opportunities offered by the Careers and Internships Department, and international mobility through the Erasmus+ programme.

Students were introduced to the International Office and Student Council, discovering ways to get involved in university life and become active members of the Vistula community.

Exploring the campus and making new connections

An important part of Orientation Day was the campus tour organized as part of the Mentoring Programme. New students had the opportunity to explore key university facilities and meet experienced students ready to share practical advice and support them during their first weeks at Vistula.

Beyond the presentations, the event offered an opportunity to meet fellow students, make first connections and become more familiar with the academic environment.

Daria Rihina, Student Activity Department Assistant, emphasized the importance of making new students feel welcome and supported from their very first day:

Orientation Day is a very important event for new students because it helps them become familiar with the University, its opportunities and student community. We want them to feel part of Vistula from their very first day, discover available initiatives and know where to find support. It is also a great opportunity to make new friends and begin their university journey in a welcoming atmosphere.

We want every student to feel welcome and know that Vistula is a place where they can develop their interests, gain new experiences and actively participate in student life.

We would like to thank everyone involved in organizing Orientation Day 2026, including the speakers, mentors and students who took part.
