New mural in Vistula’s main hall – energy, geometry and student creativity

The main hall of the Vistula University has gained a new artistic dimension. A mural designed by this year’s graduate, Maja Walentynowicz, a graduate of the Graphic Design program, has appeared on the walls of the building. The project is implemented under the academic supervision and coordination of Dr Magdalena Cybulska, with the support of Oliwia Ochnio, a third-year Graphic Design student.
The mural was created with the people who make up the Vistula community in mind – students, lecturers and staff. As the author explains:
“This mural was created with the students and staff of the university in mind – as a visual impulse that adds energy and motivation from the very moment you step into the building. I chose a strong combination of orange and navy blue to introduce dynamism and a distinct rhythm into the university space.
The animals depicted have been framed in geometric forms, as if enclosed in squares. I believe that simplicity of form carries the greatest expressive power. Minimalism and geometric structure organise the space, while at the same time allowing the viewer to focus on the emotions and energy emanating from the mural”.
This is not the end of the transformation. There are also plans to paint another wall according to the design of another of our graduates – Polina Stepanova. In this way, Vistula’s main hall is becoming a space for showcasing student creativity and a living gallery of works by young artists connected with the University.
We encourage everyone to pause for a moment in the main hall and experience this new, energetic space in person.
