Investing in the Future: Vistula signs cooperation agreements with high schools

The Vistula University is expanding its patronage and educational outreach. On May 9, 2025, in the presence of university authorities, formal cooperation agreements were signed with two schools: Adam Mickiewicz High School No. IV in Warsaw and Piotr Firlej High School No. II in Lubartów.

This marks an important step in building lasting relationships with high school students and teachers, offering them direct access to the knowledge, experience, and teaching potential of our university. Through joint initiatives, young people will be able to explore their passions, broaden their horizons, and gain skills valuable both in their future academic paths and professional lives.

“As a university, we offer tangible benefits to Polish high school graduates. We not only provide solid education across dozens of academic programs, but we also offer Polish students a unique opportunity to study in a truly multicultural environment. This helps foster mutual understanding and coexistence among peers from over 100 countries and allows them to co-create the image of our institution. Moreover, through our numerous ties with the social and business environment, we help our students plan their future careers,” says Professor Wawrzyniec Konarski, Rector of the Vistula University.

“The patronage program combines education with practice – it nurtures passions, uncovers talents, and helps young people shape their future more consciously,”
adds Professor Agata Włodkowska, Vice-Rector for Education Quality at Vistula University.

Scope of cooperation

Under the agreements, high school students will be invited to participate in lectures, workshops, and open classes organized by Vistula University. They will also have access to labs, educational materials, and opportunities to engage with our faculty, PhD candidates, and students.

Cooperation with High School No. IV in Warsaw will focus on bilingual, math-IT, math-physics, math-geography, and math-social science classes. Activities will include lectures in economics and business psychology, AI-focused workshops, and English classes taught by faculty from the Faculty of Philology and Journalism.

Meanwhile, students from High School No. II in Lubartów – particularly those in math-IT and English-geography tracks – will take part in online lectures and classes covering finance, geopolitics, professional well-being, and career development.

Both schools have also been invited to take part in a Model UN simulation hosted at our university on June 22, 2025, led by Zdzisław Rapacki, PhD. This event will combine lectures with hands-on exercises in international negotiations and political analysis.

Students will also have access to personal and professional development sessions, including lectures in business psychology, career planning, and career counseling, led by Magdalena Sieradzka, PhD. These sessions respond to the real needs of high school graduates as they make critical decisions about their educational and career paths. They will help students better understand their own potential, explore the labor market, and make informed choices.

Other proposed activities include language and new technology workshops. Meetings such as Get to Know Artificial Intelligence, led by Sebastian Królikowski, MA, and workshops on pronunciation and British slang, taught by Radosław Furmaga, MA, will help students enhance both their linguistic skills and their practical use of English in everyday communication, academic life, and modern culture.

Science enthusiasts will also be able to attend robotics workshops and a lecture by Professor Paweł Gburzyński titled Where Did Artificial Intelligence Come From, and What Can We Gain from It? – sessions that expand horizons and introduce youth to the world of emerging technologies and their applications across sectors.

Mutual commitments and benefits

Partner schools will be allowed to use the title “Patronage Class of the Vistula University” and mention the cooperation in their promotional materials. The University, in turn, commits to supporting the teaching process in selected classes, organizing on-site or online courses, and offering individual academic mentorship for the most talented students.

This cooperation is more than just a formal agreement – it is a real investment in the potential of the young generation. Through shared initiatives, we aim to inspire, support, and accompany students in discovering their passions, developing their talents, and consciously planning their futures. It is a clear sign that Vistula University continues to build a space where secondary schools and higher education institutions come together on shared values: openness, partnership, and a commitment to quality education.
