Chief Economist at the Polish Investment & Trade Agency. Dr Nowak teaches at the Vistula University and has a PhD in Economics. He has also completed his Executive Studies at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the management of political and economic reforms. Dr Nowak is a member of the Forecast Committee at the Polish Academy of Sciences and of the Team Europe Direct, an expert advisory group to the European Commission. Formerly, he was the chair of the supervisory board of the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA, 2024-25), President of the Vistula Group of Universities (2020-22), the head of the Chair of International Relations at Vistula University (2014-2017), and the Executive Director of the Centre for International Relations (2010-2013). He was a fellow at the European University Institute in Florence (School of Transnational Governance, 2018) and at the Transatlantic Academy in Washington, D.C. (2013-2014). He also performed executive and advisory functions in the European Parliament (Brussels-Strasbourg, 2004-2009) and at the Convention on the Future of Europe (Brussels, 2002-2003). Before Poland joined the EU, Dr Nowak was a co-founder and member of the Programme Board of the Initiative \u2013 \u201cYES in the Referendum\u201d (2002\u20132003) and the National Council for European Integration (2002\u20132004). Beyond professional duties, he is an alpinist and has ascended several 8-, 7-, and 6-thousand-metre peaks in the Himalaya, Karakorum, Tien-Shan, Pamir, and the Andes without using bottled oxygen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
