On 29 May 2026, the third edition of Vistula Film Festival<\/strong>, organized by Vistula Movie Club<\/strong>, took place at Vistula University. The event started at 2:00 PM and continued into the evening, bringing together students, filmmakers, cinema enthusiasts and invited guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main organizers and hosts of the event were Olaf Bojko<\/strong> and Aleska Ramanouskaya<\/strong>. The main technical crew responsible for the livestream, sound and lights included Omar Aboelfetoh, Ahmet Dalci and Abhi Upadhyay<\/strong>. The event was also supported by Vistula Music Club<\/strong> and Vistula Photography Club<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s programme featured 11 short films, each up to 10 minutes long:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 \u201cInexorabilis\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Jan Novak-Zempli\u0144ski,
\u2013 \u201cAlmost Passed it\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Alisa Nikitsenka,
\u2013 \u201cLiminality\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Oles Sipko,
\u2013 \u201cBox\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Eldana Nurbekova,
\u2013 \u201cI\u2019m no Director\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Aruzhan Akhmurzina,
\u2013 \u201cThe Suitcase\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Askar Tumanov,
\u2013 \u201c<\/strong>\u0648\u062d\u0634\u062a\u064a\u0646\u064a<\/strong> (Wahashtini)\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Aruzhan Rashid,
\u2013 \u201cmake it make sense\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Iva Tretsyakova,
\u2013 \u201cEveryone\u2019s in it\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Shamikh Gazali,
\u2013 \u201cSwagusia\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Ilona Romazanova and Alisa Nikitsenka,
\u2013 \u201cBehind the Eyelids\u201d<\/strong>, dir. Mykyta Shepelenko and Veniamin Vyrovyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The films were evaluated by 11 jury members representing the film industry, including directors, actors, producers, screenwriters, acting agents and a film scholar. The official partners of this year\u2019s festival were Impact Warsaw<\/strong> and Cztery Sztuki<\/strong>. Impact Warsaw sponsored a special prize for the Best Film<\/strong> winners \u2013 a free Improv Acting workshop. In addition, jury member Jacek Su\u0142ek<\/strong> gave every team leader a book on creative writing and presented special screenwriting books to the winners of Best Screenwriting, Best Direction and Best Film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners of Vistula Film Festival 2026<\/strong> were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Best Screenplay:<\/strong> Oles Sipko \u2013 \u201cLiminality\u201d,
\u2013 Best Editing:<\/strong> Omar Aboelfetoh \u2013 \u201c\u0648\u062d\u0634\u062a\u064a\u0646\u064a (Wahashtini)\u201d,
\u2013 Best Cinematography:<\/strong> Oles Sipko \u2013 \u201cLiminality\u201d,
\u2013 Best Supporting Acting:<\/strong> Ian Klaff \u2013 \u201cEveryone\u2019s in it\u201d,
\u2013 Best Direction:<\/strong> Aruzhan Rashid \u2013 \u201c\u0648\u062d\u0634\u062a\u064a\u0646\u064a (Wahashtini)\u201d,
\u2013 Best Music:<\/strong> \u201cLiminality\u201d,
\u2013 Best Main Acting:<\/strong> Rahaf Ibrahim \u2013 \u201c\u0648\u062d\u0634\u062a\u064a\u0646\u064a (Wahashtini)\u201d,
\u2013 Best Film:<\/strong> \u201c\u0648\u062d\u0634\u062a\u064a\u0646\u064a (Wahashtini)\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival also featured musical performances prepared and performed by members of Vistula Music Club<\/strong>. The audience heard covers of \u201cOscar Winning Tears\u201d, \u201cAshes\u201d from Deadpool 2<\/em>, \u201cCrash\u201d from Mr Bean\u2019s Holiday<\/em>, \u201cWhere Is My Mind\u201d from Fight Club<\/em>, \u201cI\u2019m Just Ken\u201d from Barbie<\/em>, and The Beatles\u2019 \u201cTwo of Us\u201d. One of the most memorable moments of the opening ceremony was a speech by Rector Prof. Wawrzyniec Konarski, who surprised the audience and organizers by singing \u201cMy Rifle, My Pony and Me\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other notable moments included Jacek Su\u0142ek presenting books to all team leaders, Oles Sipko\u2019s heartfelt gesture of giving paintings to the current and former presidents of Vistula Movie Club, and Mykyta Shepelenko\u2019s energetic \u201cI\u2019m Just Ken\u201d performance, which combined singing, dancing and electric guitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vistula Film Festival 2026 once again showed the creativity, commitment and courage of young filmmakers. Congratulations to all participants, winners, organizers and everyone who contributed to this exceptional event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
