He defended his doctoral dissertation in 2010 at the Institute of English Studies, Warsaw University writing about irony in the works of Elizabeth Bishop. Awarded a scholarship of the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators in Visby (December 2010), H.A.L.D. (Housing Authors and Literature) in Viborg (July and August 2011) and OMI in Ghent, New York (September 2012) and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage to write a book (twice: in 2007 and 2010).
